Game Merging AI

A design lens for combining game systems without turning the prototype into an untestable feature list.

Start with the foundations section before choosing a tool.

Game merging with AI begins as a comparison, not a command. Ask what one game does well, what the other game does differently, and what a player would do with that difference. The answer becomes a mechanic boundary that an AI assistant can help you implement.

The base game should own the camera, the primary input, and the save model. The imported game contributes one pressure system, traversal idea, combat layer, or progression choice. That asymmetry is useful: it gives the prototype a center of gravity and makes the result possible to review.

A good merge has a testable sentence

Write a sentence such as “the player uses a shield that recharges only after moving into danger” or “the player builds a safehouse before returning to a wanted mission.” If the sentence cannot be played in one room, it is probably still a theme rather than a mechanic.

Use the prompt generator to turn that sentence into steps. Then browse the merge tutorial and choose one of the launch combinations below for a concrete reference.
